The original Tain design made it impossible to ever become a rapid fire weapon. BruteForce weapons experts toiled for years to improve upon the Tain cannon, and increase its fire rate. Finally, they scrapped the original design and created a new model, which allowed for smaller shells to be stored in a clip, and fine-tuned the firing mechanism to allow rapid fire capability, without destroying the gun. After seeing the weapon tear through armors and rovers in testing, they dubbed this new gun the "Mauler".
